Journalist Barış Yarkadaş claimed that Özgür Özel and his team contacted the founder of the Young Party, Cem Uzan, and its General Chairman, Burçin Şahindur, to take over the party, which is eligible to enter the elections. Confirming the allegations, Young Party leader Şahindur stated that they would not align themselves with a structure that has not been cleared of allegations against it, and firmly closed the doors to the CHP.
Political backstage circles are shaken by a striking claim shared on TV100 screens. Journalist Barış Yarkadaş alleged that Özgür Özel and his team made attempts to take over the Young Party, which has the right to run in elections. Yarkadaş, relaying his conversation with Young Party leader Burçin Şahindur, revealed the harsh response to this move from the CHP wing.
REVEALED THE BACKSTAGE ON TV100: 'THEY REACHED CEM UZAN'
Speaking on TV100 live broadcast, Barış Yarkadaş stated that some names from Özgür Özel's team reached out to Cem Uzan, the founding leader of the Young Party. According to information shared by Yarkadaş, CHP figures expressed their desire to join the Young Party's management and take over the party. However, Cem Uzan indicated he was not involved in active politics and directed them to the party's current General Chairman, Burçin Şahindur, as the point of contact.
'WE ARE ORGANIZED IN 72 PROVINCES, THAT'S WHY THEY WANT US'
Responding to Barış Yarkadaş's question, 'Why do they want you?', Young Party General Chairman Burçin Şahindur highlighted the party's strategic position. Şahindur stated, 'Because we are a party organized in 72 provinces and have earned the right to run in elections. Additionally, we have a political stance on the center-right. Therefore, I think they want to choose us.'
SHOCK RESPONSE FROM YOUNG PARTY TO CHP: THEY CANNOT COME WITHOUT BEING CLEARED
When asked about their stance in the event of a potential merger, Şahindur completely closed the door on Özgür Özel and his team. Referring to the debates and allegations within CHP, the Young Party leader made scathing remarks:
'People facing so many corruption allegations cannot come to our party without being cleared. We cannot stand alongside a structure under the shadow of so many corruption allegations. The CHP's general chairman is clear. We are not a party trying to gain votes by currying favor with a specific voter base of CHP; we are not like them.'
'IT SHOULD BE RESOLVED UNDER KILIÇDAROĞLU'S LEADERSHIP'
Young Party General Chairman Burçin Şahindur also explained the formula for CHP to overcome its current situation and issued warnings about the future of the opposition. Arguing that CHP should resolve its problems as soon as possible under the leadership of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Şahindur claimed that if societal opposition does not unite by shedding these issues, defeat in the next election against the AK Party would be inevitable.
