The new board defined in the Terror-Free Turkey law, which was adopted with 467 votes in the Turkish Grand National Assembly and entered into force with President Erdogan's approval, has officially started its activities. At the board's first meeting, chaired by the Vice President and planned for August 24, the needs arising from the disarmament and dissolution processes, as well as the sub-commissions to be established, will be discussed.
The new board envisaged under Law No. 7595 on "Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Cohesion," which was adopted with a record vote of 467 in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and approved by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, published in the Official Gazette, has officially commenced its activities.
The board, which will operate under the chairmanship of the Vice President, was officially established with the publication of the law. As the process progressed rapidly, the ministers and relevant institutions that are members of the board also started their work in their respective areas of responsibility without delay.
AGENDA OF THE FIRST MEETING: DISARMAMENT AND SUB-COMMITTEES
The board, which will play a critical role in line with the goal of a "Terror-Free Turkey," is planned to hold its first meeting on Monday, August 24.
The main agenda items of this historic meeting will be the determination of the board's working procedures and principles. At the meeting, the details of the sub-committees to be established in line with the needs arising from the disarmament and dissolution processes will also be discussed. The issues to be brought to the agenda by board members and matters requiring close coordination among institutions will also be evaluated at this first gathering.
GOAL: NATIONAL UNITY AND PEACE
In the evaluation made regarding the process, it was emphasized that the main goal of this new mechanism is the permanent establishment of national unity, brotherhood, and peace. It was stated that the board will carry out intensive work with effective coordination among institutions in order to fulfill all the duties and responsibilities assigned to it under Law No. 7595.
