COW GIVES BIRTH TO TWO-HEADED CALF
This morning, the birth of a 2-year-old Simmental cow owned by Mustafa Yaman, living in the village of Karainler in Bartın, began. After the birth did not occur as expected, the animal owners contacted veterinarian Tolga Kandıralı for assistance. Noticing something was wrong while trying to assist with the birth, veterinarian Kandıralı decided that a cesarean section was necessary. During the operation, the two-headed calf was extracted dead from the cow's abdomen, surprising both the veterinarian and the animal owners.
"CHANCE OF SURVIVAL IS ONE IN HUNDRED THOUSAND"
Veterinarian Kandıralı stated that the calf had a brain, eyes, ears, mouth, and tongue in both of its heads, noting that the interesting birth they encountered has a one in a hundred thousand chance of occurring.
Kandıralı also added that the cause of this unusual event could be due to hereditary factors or environmental pollution.
While the stillborn calf was buried, it was reported that the health condition of the cow is good.
