The administrators and members of the Newborn Gang, who are accused of transferring babies to colluding hospitals for unjust profit and causing their deaths, are being tried along with 47 defendants. The organization leader, Fırat Sarı, has begun to present his defense.

The first hearing of the case involving 47 defendants, including 22 who are detained, accused of providing unfair profits by transferring babies to hospitals they have agreements with and causing their deaths through negligent behavior, is ongoing on its 6th day.

WEARING A COLORFUL SHIRT

In the courtroom of Bakırköy Courthouse, journalists and lawyers took their places. Fırat Sarı, who is referred to as the leader of the gang, was brought into the hall. It was observed that Sarı was wearing a blue and green checkered winter shirt.

FROM THE INDICTMENT

In the indictment, it is requested that defendants Fırat Sarı and İlker Gönen be sentenced to a total of 177 years and 6 months to 582 years and 9 months in prison for "manslaughter through negligence," "qualified fraud," and "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime" ten times, and for "forgery of official documents" eleven times.

For defendant Gıyasettin Mert Özdemir, a prison sentence of 180 years to 589 years and 9 months is sought for "manslaughter through negligence," "unlawful acquisition of personal data," "fraud to the detriment of public institutions and organizations," "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime," and "forgery of official documents."

Similar prison sentences are also anticipated for the other defendants regarding similar charges.
