A 72-year-old cyclist named Niyazi Şen, who was reportedly hit by a truck that violated a red light in the Köşk district of Aydın, lost his life under a concrete electricity pole.

In Aydın's Köşk district, a cyclist lost his life after being struck by a fallen streetlight pole in an accident involving a truck and a car.

THE FALLEN POLE FELL ON THE CYCLIST

The accident occurred around 12:30 at the Şehit Hv. Ulş. Er Ahmet Hakan Uğur Junction. A truck with license plate 35 AIN 807, driven by Osman Faruk Şahan (49), allegedly ran a red light and collided with a concrete electric pole on the roadside, then hit a car with license plate 45 AIG 691, driven by Cemal Muharrem Yanardağ (64). The pole that fell due to the impact landed on cyclist Niyazi Şen.

HE LOST HIS LIFE

Upon notification, health, fire, and police teams were dispatched to the area. It was determined that Şen had lost his life at the scene.
