In a joint operation held in Istanbul and Mugla, Esra Batmaz, the daughter of Kemal Batmaz, one of the critical figures of the July 15 coup attempt, and Hilal Koseoglu, the daughter of Bilal Koseoglu, a former judge/prosecutor dismissed by decree law (KHK), were caught.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted to uncover the current activities of the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization, 2 suspects were apprehended in operations carried out in Istanbul and Muğla. Numerous digital materials were seized during the operations.
ESMA BATMAZ AND HİLAL KÖSEOĞLU DETAINED
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, efforts were carried out to reveal the current activities of the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization. As part of these efforts, search and seizure operations were conducted at 3 addresses in Istanbul and 1 address in Muğla around 05:45 today. During the operations, Esma Batmaz, the daughter of Kemal Batmaz who was captured at Akıncı Base, was apprehended in Istanbul, while Hilal Köseoğlu, the daughter of Bilal Köseoğlu, who was dismissed by decree while serving as a judge and prosecutor at the Ankara Courthouse and is currently held in Muğla E-Type Closed Penitentiary Institution, was apprehended in Muğla.
NUMEROUS DIGITAL MATERIALS SEIZED
While numerous digital materials were seized during the searches conducted at the addresses, it was learned that the classification and examination processes of the materials are ongoing.
TWO SUSPECTS BEING SOUGHT
On the other hand, it was reported that efforts continue to capture Yakup Aykın, who has been determined to have been abroad since 2016, and Sami Yılmaz, who has an exit record abroad dated July 2026.
