A 24-year-old worker, Güven Albayrak, who was seriously injured in the explosion at the pasta factory in Sakarya on September 15, has passed away in the hospital where he was receiving treatment. While the investigation into the incident is ongoing, the number of fatalities has risen to three.

An explosion occurred on September 15 at the pasta factory located in the Hendek district of Sakarya. Güven Albayrak, who was injured and treated at the Wound and Burn Treatment Center of Kartal Dr. Lütfi Kırdar City Hospital after the first intervention, lost his 25-day battle for life. The number of fatalities has risen to 3. It has been learned that Albayrak's funeral will be held in the village of Dadalı in Akçakoca district of Düzce.



WHAT HAPPENED?



The explosion that occurred on September 15 at the pasta factory in Hendek district was followed by a fire. During the cooling efforts, the lifeless body of 27-year-old Mesut Şimay was found. 30 injured individuals were taken to hospitals in Hendek and Akyazı districts, as well as in Düzce and Kocaeli. Eray Kızıldağ, who was seriously injured in the explosion, lost his life on October 4 at the hospital where he was being treated. As part of the investigation initiated by the Hendek Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 7 suspects, including factory owners and managers, were summoned for questioning, and after their interrogation and procedures, 6 of the suspects were detained, while 1 was released. Among the suspects brought before the peace criminal court, the factory manager V.U. was arrested, while 5 suspects, including factory owners, were released under judicial control.
