The defendant, who was tried in Kocaeli for allegedly killing his ex-wife and injuring his son, denied the charges in court, stating, 'I was sent by the Supreme Creator to guide people. No one will come after me. I am the king awaited by the Jews, the Messiah awaited by Christians, and the Mahdi awaited by Muslims. The state authorities also know this.'
The defendant's defense in court, who is being tried for killing his ex-wife and injuring his son in Kocaeli, caused shock.
The incident occurred on July 27, 2024, in an apartment on Kazım Karabekir Street, Yeni Mahalle, Gölcük district. According to the claim, Mustafa Y. (50), who came to the house of his ex-wife Sözen Tutci (55), fired a gun. While the woman, who was the target of the bullets, remained on the ground covered in blood; Mustafa Y. also shot his son Vedat Y. (33) in the leg. Vedat Y. also wounded his father by firing a gun. In the check carried out by the health teams, it was determined that Sözen Tutci lost her life. Vedat Y., who was taken into custody after his treatment in the hospital, was released under judicial control conditions at the courthouse where he was referred in a wheelchair. Mustafa Y., who was seriously injured, was discharged after approximately 1 month of treatment at Kocaeli City Hospital. Mustafa Y., who was taken into custody, was arrested by the court he was brought before and sent to prison.
CASE OPENED AGAINST FATHER AND SON
A case was opened against Mustafa Y. for the crimes of 'premeditated murder against a woman and towards his ex-wife', 'attempted premeditated murder against a descendant', 'violation of domicile immunity', 'possession and carrying of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in violation of Law No. 6136', and against his son Vedat Y. for his action towards his father for the crime of 'attempted premeditated murder against an ascendant'.
COMMITTED THE ACT WITH PREMEDITATION
The 4th hearing of the case opened regarding the incident at the Kocaeli 4th High Criminal Court continued. The detained defendant Mustafa Y. and his lawyer attended the hearing. The prosecutor stated that the defendant Mustafa Y. harbored hostility towards his ex-wife Sözen Tutci and that this hostility was the reason for the incident. In the opinion, it was stated that the defendant thought Sözen Tutci had pornographic videos made and believed that his son Vedat Y. was not his biological son. Therefore, it was recorded that the defendant formed an intent to kill his wife and son, obtained a weapon, made a plan, and came to the scene.
REQUEST FOR AGGRAVATED LIFE IMPRISONMENT AND A TOTAL OF 20 TO 32 YEARS IN PRISON
In the opinion; it was requested that the defendant Mustafa Y. be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of "Premeditated murder against his ex-wife" due to his action towards Sözen Tutci, and from 14 to 21 years in prison for the crime of attempted premeditated murder towards his son Vedat Y. Additionally, it was requested that the defendant be sentenced from 1 to 3 years in prison for the crime of violating domicile immunity, and from 5 to 8 years in prison for the crime of possessing a severe weapon.
Regarding the defendant Vedat Y., an opinion was given that the action was aimed at preventing the attack, remained within the scope of legitimate defense, and there was no place for punishment.

During the hearing, it was read that regarding the mental health report requested in the previous hearing, the Council of Forensic Medicine could not reach a conclusion, and it was reported that the defendant should be evaluated under observation. Upon this, the defendant said, "My mental health is sound. I was sent by the supreme creator to guide people. No one will come after me. The king the Jews are waiting for, the Messiah the Christians are waiting for, and the Mahdi the Muslims are waiting for is me. This situation was conveyed to me in 2023. State officials also know this. They will not come to take me without me declaring this. Bullets cannot pass through me, if you don't believe it, let's try. I request my release. I did not kill Sözen, I am not guilty."
Defendant Mustafa Y.; in his defense given in previous hearings, had claimed that Sözen Tutci was killed by Vedat Y.
WILL BE KEPT UNDER OBSERVATION FOR MENTAL HEALTH REPORT
The court panel decided, in accordance with the ATK specialization decision, that the defendant be kept under observation, the report to be prepared be sent to the court, and his detention continue.
