Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder was taken into emergency surgery on Tuesday, April 15, due to a rupture of the aorta. Önder, who underwent a 12-hour surgery with extremely high life-threatening risks, is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit. DEM Party Diyarbakır Deputy Cengiz Çandar told Haberler.com, "There is no new situation. There is no deterioration. That gives hope. It is an extraordinarily difficult surgery. It is a complex and challenging surgery that will have a place in medical history. The seriousness of the situation remains. Everyone's prayers are for his recovery. It may take quite a long time."
"I TOLD THE DOCTORS 'YOU ARE HEROES'"
Çandar stated, "I told the doctor who performed the surgery and the chief physician, 'Heroism is not just something that happens on the battlefield. You are heroes. Know this.' Sırrı Süreyya's younger brother has also said similar things to them."

Çandar expressed that he is praying for Sırrı Süreyya Önder's recovery, saying, "One of the things I want the most is to be able to tell Sırrı what I have told you.
