As the war between India and Pakistan escalates in Asia, it has been reported that North Korea launched multiple short-range ballistic missiles towards the Sea of Japan. It was stated that the missiles fell outside Japan's exclusive economic zone and did not cause any damage.

As the war between Pakistan and India intensifies, Japan and North Korea are also facing off. Despite the international community's reactions and imposed sanctions, North Korea continues its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile program, once again alarming regional countries. The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) reported that North Korea launched multiple short-range ballistic missiles towards the Sea of Japan.

DROPPED INTO THE SEA OF JAPAN

It was reported that the missiles launched from the eastern city of Wonsan between 08:10 and 09:20 local time fell into the Sea of Japan after covering a maximum distance of 800 kilometers. The statement emphasized that the South Korean military is on high alert against possible provocations from North Korea, stating, "Our military, which has increased observation activities, continues to remain vigilant by sharing information with the United States and Japan." JCS Spokesperson Lee Sung-jun stated that North Korea's recent test may have been conducted to test the performance of missiles produced for export purposes.

JAPAN CONDEMNS NORTH KOREA

The Japanese government also confirmed North Korea's recent missile test. The Japanese Ministry of Defense stated that the missiles flew on an irregular trajectory and reached a maximum altitude of 100 kilometers. It was reported that the missiles fell outside Japan's exclusive economic zone and, according to initial assessments, did not cause any damage. Japanese Defense Minister Gen Nakatani emphasized that they are continuing cooperation with the United States and South Korea against North Korea's actions, stating, "Ballistic missile tests violate relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and threaten public safety. We strongly condemn North Korea's missile tests." Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi stated that North Korea's missile tests threaten the peace and security of Japan, the region, and the international community, saying, "We protested to North Korea through our embassy in Beijing and condemned it strongly."

LAST BALLISTIC MISSILE TEST ON MARCH 10

North Korea last launched multiple ballistic missiles towards the Yellow Sea on March 10. The test, which took place on the day South Korea and the U.S. began their joint Freedom Shield Exercise, was interpreted as a warning to the Seoul-Washington alliance. This test was also recorded as North Korea's first ballistic missile test since U.S. President Donald Trump took office.
