As a result of the lottery draw held in the Bayrampaşa Municipal Council, CHP member İbrahim Kahraman was elected as the deputy chairman. Kahraman stated, "The will of the nation reflected in the ballot box during the March 31 elections has manifested itself in the Bayrampaşa Municipal Council. Greetings to Ekrem İmamoğlu in Silivri and Hasan Mutlu." Özgür Özel also remarked, "The will of Bayrampaşa was already CHP. Even if it was through a lottery, justice has been served."
After the suspension of Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu, a lottery was held to determine the deputy mayor as both candidates received equal votes over four rounds in the elections. In the lottery draw, the CHP candidate İbrahim Kahraman won.
In the deputy mayor election, the CHP candidate for Bayrampaşa was İbrahim Kahraman, while the AK Party candidate was İbrahim Akın, and the election started at 10:00.
NO WINNER IN THE FIRST FOUR ROUNDS
In the first round of the Bayrampaşa Deputy Mayor election, the AK Party candidate received 19 votes, while the CHP candidate received 18 votes. Since a two-thirds majority was not achieved, the election proceeded to the second round. In the second round, the AK Party candidate received 18 votes, and the CHP candidate also received 18 votes, with one vote deemed invalid. In the third round of the election, again, the AK Party member received 18 votes, and the CHP member received 18 votes, with one vote deemed invalid.
TENSION ARISES
In the fourth round of the election, as a result of the 18-18 tie, discussions occurred among the council members in the hall. While there was tension and debate in the hall, some members were taken into the meeting room.
Due to the tie in the first four rounds, according to the rules, a lottery was held between the two candidates for the deputy mayor. The name drawn from the lottery was CHP candidate İbrahim Kahraman.
