The elderly woman Döndü Nine, who donated her pension to Mehmetçik, has passed away.

In a statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, it was reminded that when the Olive Branch Operation began, all of Turkey, from seven to seventy, showed their support for the Turkish Armed Forces with their prayers.

In the statement, it was noted that Mehmetçik, who had the strength and support of the Turkish nation behind him, eliminated the terrorist corridor that was intended to be created in northern Syria:

"During those days when our nation was united as one, our aunt Döndü Tozlu, who lived in the Serik district of Antalya, had a place in the heart of the soldier with an example of sacrifice that we will never forget. At that time, our aunt Döndü, who was 92 years old, donated her accumulated pension to the Mehmetçik Foundation to support the Olive Branch Operation and once again engraved in our memories that the Turkish nation, known as the 'soldier nation,' has always stood by Mehmetçik throughout history."

CONDOLENCE VISIT MADE

In the statement, it was mentioned that Tozlu passed away yesterday at the age of 98, and that the Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, along with the military personnel represented by the 3rd Infantry Training Brigade and Antalya Garrison Commander Infantry Colonel Hüseyin Yılmaz, paid a condolence visit to her home in the Serik district of Antalya.

The statement included, "We wish God's mercy upon our aunt Döndü, whom we will always remember as a noble-hearted, selfless, and patriotic elder, and we extend our condolences and patience to her grieving family. Mehmetçik will always remember you with respect, love, and honor."
