In the Kurucaşile district of Bartın, the cables of an elevator installed on the exterior facade of a 5-story building snapped when it reached the 3rd floor. Hasan E., 69, who has difficulty walking, and his son Burak E., 35, fell from a height of about 10 meters. The father was taken to the hospital, and his condition is reported to be serious; an investigation into the incident has been launched.
In the Kurucaşile district of Bartın, Hasan E. (69) and his son Burak E. (35) were injured after falling from a height of about 10 meters when the cable of the elevator installed on the exterior facade of a 5-story building snapped.
THEY GOT ON TO GO UP TO THE 5TH FLOOR
The incident occurred around 17:30 in the 5-story building in Ömerler Neighborhood of the district. Hasan E., who had difficulty walking due to a condition in his feet, and his son Burak E. got on the elevator installed on the exterior facade of the building to go up to the 5th floor. When the elevator reached the 3rd floor, its cables snapped and father and son fell from a height of about 10 meters.
THE FATHER'S CONDITION IS SERIOUS
Upon notification, 112 Emergency Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While the father and son were taken to Bartın State Hospital by ambulances, it was learned that Hasan E.'s condition was serious.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
