It has been stated that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer believes that he should testify before the US Congress due to his relationship with billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in prison while being prosecuted for allegedly running a prostitution ring for underage girls, and that he should resign from his membership in the House of Lords.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, announced that former Washington Ambassador Lord Peter Mandelson should testify due to his connections with Jeffrey Epstein and resign from the House of Lords.
The spokesperson for the UK Prime Minister made a statement regarding Mandelson, who was removed from his position as Ambassador to Washington in September 2025 due to his connections with Epstein, after new allegations emerged in the latest Epstein documents published in the US last week.
"HE SHOULD RESIGN AND TESTIFY IN THE US"
The spokesperson stated that Mandelson, who resigned from the Labour Party following the release of the latest documents, should testify before the US Congress regarding the matter, saying, "The Prime Minister (Starmer) believes that everyone who has information should share what they know."
The spokesperson pointed out that those who are not ready to do so do not have an approach that centers on the victims, stating, "The Prime Minister believes that Mandelson should no longer be a member of the House of Lords."
Highlighting that Starmer does not have the authority to remove Mandelson from the House of Lords, the spokesperson emphasized that the Prime Minister has called for the modernization of disciplinary processes in the House of Lords.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Former Deputy Prime Minister, Minister, and Ambassador Mandelson resigned from the Labour Party last night after documents and some photographs showing that Epstein paid him a total of $75,000 in 2003 and 2004 were published by the US Department of Justice last Friday.
Mandelson stated in his resignation letter, in which he mentioned that he "did not want to create more embarrassment," that he did not recall the payments in question.
