US President Trump held a press conference before his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House. During the meeting, Trump was asked about his relationship with billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died in prison in 2019.
In response to the question, the US President stated, "I had to throw Epstein out of my club because he was a sick pervert, I have no connection with him."
SCOLDED THE REPORTER
Trump scolded the ABC reporter who asked the question, saying, "I think ABC's license should be taken away because your news is very fake and very wrong. ABC is your company, your terrible company is one of the criminals."
EPSTEIN BILL PASSED IN THE US
Meanwhile, the US House of Representatives passed a bill that calls for the public disclosure of all files related to billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in prison while being prosecuted for allegedly running a prostitution ring involving underage girls.
The bill titled "Epstein Files Transparency Act" received 427 "yes" votes in the House of Representatives, with only one member voting "no." This result marked the first step in Congress towards the opening of the Epstein files, which the American public has long been eagerly awaiting.
WILL BECOME LAW IF TRUMP SIGNS
This step in the Republican-majority Congress is noteworthy as it comes after US President Donald Trump "changed his mind about the public disclosure of the files." The next stop for the bill to become law will be the US Senate. If it is also approved in the Senate, the bill will be sent to the White House and will become law if signed by US President Donald Trump.
The bill aims to make all Jeffrey Epstein files under the jurisdiction of the US Department of Justice public.
THE JEFFREY EPSTEIN CASE
Epstein, who was charged with sexually abusing dozens of girls under the age of 18, including the youngest being 14, and running a prostitution ring, was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City on August 10, 2019.
The disclosed Epstein case files included famous names such as Prince Andrew, US President Donald Trump, former US President Bill Clinton, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, former US Vice President Al Gore, actor Kevin Spacey, singer Michael Jackson, illusionist David Copperfield, lawyer Alan Dershowitz, and former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson.
The FBI also stated that, as a result of its investigation with the US Department of Justice, there was no evidence that a "client list" of famous individuals had been kept, and concluded that Epstein, who was alleged to have been murdered to cover up the crimes of individuals including government officials, celebrities, and businessmen, actually committed suicide in his cell.
US journalist Tucker Carlson also claimed that Epstein "worked for Israel, that everyone in Washington thought the same way but could not say it openly."
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that Epstein's girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell had asked acquaintances to write letters to him on the occasion of his 50th birthday, one of which was allegedly from Trump.
