The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation has been launched against an individual for the crimes of "publicly spreading misleading information" and "insulting state institutions and organizations" due to expressions used on social media platforms targeting the police force, and that a detention order has been issued.
In the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that an ex officio investigation was launched due to expressions used by a person against the police organization in some social media platforms and publicized shares.
In the statement, it was noted that as a result of the examinations, an investigation is being conducted against the person deemed to have made these shares on charges of "publicly disseminating misleading information" and "insulting state institutions and organizations."
In the statement, where it was conveyed that necessary procedures for identifying and apprehending the suspect have been initiated and a detention order was issued within the scope of the investigation, it was stated: "Our Republic Chief Public Prosecutor's Office meticulously evaluates allegations regarding acts and rhetoric targeting the peace of society, public order, and the fundamental rights and freedoms of our citizens, and insulting state institutions and organizations, and resolutely carries out necessary judicial procedures within the framework of relevant legislation."
