The trial of 23-year-old British influencer Brooke George, who is accused of stabbing her boyfriend William Treeby to death in Dubai, has been postponed. The family of the young woman, who has been in custody since June, said they are concerned because of prison conditions and limited phone calls.

British social media influencer Brooke George is preparing to appear before a judge again in the case concerning the death of her boyfriend William Treeby in Dubai. The hearing of the 23-year-old young woman, who is detained on a murder charge, was postponed because prosecution witnesses did not come to court. George, who is said to possibly face the death penalty if found guilty, has a family that is worried about their daughter’s health and prison conditions.

HEARING POSTPONED BECAUSE WITNESSES DID NOT COME

It was reported that George’s latest hearing was postponed because prosecution witnesses did not attend court. It was stated that the court set a new date for the witnesses’ statements to be taken and decided that the young woman’s detention would continue. The next hearing is expected to be held on October 28.

George’s family, whose daughter has been detained in Dubai since June, claimed that prison conditions made the young woman’s situation even more difficult. The family alleged that she has difficulty sleeping because lights are left on all night and due to noise where she is staying, and that the medication she was told would be given to help her sleep has not yet reached her.

FAMILY WORRIED ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEIR DAUGHTER

The young woman’s mother, Tess, stated that her phone calls with her daughter ended in about two minutes and that they could not find an opportunity to call again. The family also claimed that George was told she could not make an international phone call.

Mother Tess, who expressed concern about her daughter’s mental state, voiced her concerns regarding her conditions in prison.

Radha Stirling, founder of the organization Detained in Dubai, which supports foreign detainees in Dubai, also drew attention to George’s health condition and the difficulty she experiences in communicating with her family, and called for necessary medical support to be provided.

“I STABBED HIM TO DEFEND MYSELF” CLAIM

Brooke George admits that she stabbed her 26-year-old boyfriend William Treeby in the chest, but claims that the incident occurred for the purpose of defending herself.

According to George’s claim, Treeby attacked her and punched her in the face during an argument. The young woman, who stated that while she wanted to take her belongings and leave the house, she encountered her boyfriend holding a knife, argues that she took the knife into her hand during the struggle.

It was reported that a forensic examination found bruises and injuries on George’s face, especially around her left eye. The assessment of how the incident occurred and the statements of the parties is being handled in the judicial process.

SHE COULD FACE THE DEATH PENALTY

Brooke George was taken into custody in June 2026 after her boyfriend William Treeby lost his life in Dubai. It is stated that the young woman, who is accused of murder, could face the death penalty in the United Arab Emirates if found guilty.

George’s family is asking that their daughter’s self-defense claim be taken into consideration and that she be able to access necessary health services in prison. While the trial process continues, no final decision has been made regarding the young woman’s guilt.
