The list of "Foods That Endanger Health" published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry includes cheese brands found on the shelves of a famous supermarket chain. The cheeses from these brands were found to contain 'natamycin,' which is also known as 'fungicide.'

The lists of "Imitation or Adulterated Foods" and "Foods That Will Endanger Health," announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, continue to be updated.

SOLD IN CHAIN STORES

Recently, various cheese brands have been added to the "Foods That Will Endanger Health" list. It has been observed that the "Ahir" brand full-fat dill melting cheese sold in a well-known chain store and the "Tarabya" brand full-fat fresh cheese sold in the same store are also included in the list. According to the information in the list, the relevant products contain 'natamycin.'

WHAT IS NATAMYCIN?

Known as 'fungicide,' Natamycin is used primarily to prevent mold and yeast growth in cheeses. While it is on the shelf, Natamycin prevents the development of mold and yeast in the product, thereby reducing the risk of mycotoxin formation.

The cheese brands added to the "Foods That Will Endanger Health" list are as follows:
