Mathilde Favier, who served as Dior's public relations director for many years, passed away at the age of 57 in a traffic accident in France. Favier, who had been the face of Dior for 13 years, has caused great sorrow in the fashion world.
Mathilde Favier, who served as the director of public relations for the French fashion giant Christian Dior Couture for many years, died in a traffic accident. The 57-year-old Favier and her film producer partner Nicolas Altmayer were in a car that collided with an oncoming truck near Airvault in the Deux-Sèvres region on August 17. The couple died in the accident.
THEY COLLIDED HEAD-ON WITH A TRUCK
The accident occurred on the D938 highway. According to a statement from the French prosecutor's office, the car carrying Favier and Altmayer collided with a heavy vehicle coming from the opposite direction while overtaking another vehicle.
It was reported that the truck driver was not injured in the accident, and initial checks found no alcohol or drug use. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident.

The news of Favier's death caused great sorrow at Dior, where she had worked for many years. Delphine Arnault, CEO of Dior Couture, described Favier as a highly talented and optimistic person who loved life passionately, and stated that her death is a great loss for Dior.
Dior's creative director Jonathan Anderson also expressed his sadness following Favier's death, stating that the energy and warmth she brought to the fashion house will not be forgotten. Mathilde Favier joined Dior in 2011 and managed the fashion house's relations with celebrities and the public for approximately 13 years. Before Dior, Favier worked at Glamour magazine and Prada, and through her connections with some of the most important figures in the fashion world, she became one of the prominent figures in the Paris fashion scene.
Favier was also the stepsister of Victoire de Castellane, the creative director of Dior jewelry. Favier, whose entry into the fashion world was also influenced by family connections, began her career in the Chanel circle through her uncle Gilles Dufour.
SHE WAS ALSO KNOWN FOR HER BOOK DESCRIBING PARIS
In addition to her career in the fashion world, Favier was also known for her books describing Parisian life, and authored works titled "Mathilde à Paris" and "Living Beautifully in Paris." She also reflected her relationship with Paris's fashion, art, and cultural circles in her books.
HER PARTNER WAS ALSO A FAMOUS PRODUCER
Nicolas Altmayer, 61, who died in the accident along with Favier, was among the recognized producers of French cinema. Through Mandarin Films/Mandarin & Compagnie, which he co-founded with his brother Eric Altmayer, he produced numerous films, most notably the "Brice de Nice" and "OSS 117" series.
Altmayer also worked with directors such as François Ozon, Bertrand Bonello, and Julia Ducournau. The films Brice de Nice and OSS 117, starring Jean Dujardin, are among the producer's most well-known works in his career.
AN INVESTIGATION WAS LAUNCHED INTO THE ACCIDENT
The Niort Prosecutor's Office announced that a judicial investigation had been launched following the accident on charges of "causing death by negligence." It was reported that the investigation is ongoing to determine how the accident occurred and who was at fault.
