Two girls who got lost in Avcılar were found in Kadıköy by the Istanbul Police Department Child Branch teams. According to the statements given by the girls, one aged 14 and the other 13, two fathers were caught and referred to the courthouse. It was learned that the 13-year-old girl, S.Y., was forced into prostitution and made to commit theft by her father.
Two fathers who were caught in Kadıköy after two girls who went missing in Avcılar in Istanbul gave their statements were referred to the courthouse. The investigation into the situation of 14-year-old M.G. and 13-year-old S.Y., who were found together in Fikirtepe neighborhood of Kadıköy as a result of the work carried out by the Child Branch teams of Istanbul Police Department in Avcılar on September 6, is ongoing.
FORCED TO BEG AND STEAL
In the interview conducted with S.Y., one of the girls, accompanied by a pedagogue and psychologist, it was determined that the child was forced to beg and steal from markets and was beaten by her father Sedat Y. The other child, M.G., stated that she was forcibly married to S.Y.'s 16-year-old brother E.Y. by her father A.G. in exchange for money, and she was beaten and forced to steal. Upon this information, the police took action.
SUSPECTS REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSE
As a result of the police operation, Sedat Y. and A.G. were detained. Efforts are underway to apprehend S.Y.'s brother E.Y., grandfather E.Y., and mother H.T. The suspects were referred to the courthouse after the procedures at the police station.
