FED DID NOT CHANGE THE INTEREST RATE
The US Central Bank (Fed) announced its fourth interest rate decision for 2026. The Fed's Open Market Committee (FOMC), meeting for the first time under new Chairman Kevin Warsh, kept the policy rate steady in the 3.50-3.75 percent range, in line with global market expectations.
The Fed had implemented consecutive 25 basis point interest rate cuts in the last three meetings of 2025. The US Central Bank had kept the rate steady in its January, March, and April meetings. Thus, with today's move, it has 'passed' four times in total.
