Fenerbahçe President Sadettin Saran, who was detained last night on the grounds of "additional evidence" in a drug investigation, is expected to be brought to the courthouse around 09:00 today. Heavy security measures have been taken in front of the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan since early morning.

Before Sadettin Saran's transfer to the courthouse, Fenerbahçe fans gathered in front of the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan to show their support. The activity in front of the courthouse drew attention, and it was observed that security measures had been increased.
HOW DID THE INVESTIGATION PROCESS BEGIN?
An investigation was initiated against Sadettin Saran by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes Investigation Bureau on charges of "supplying narcotic substances" and "facilitating the use of narcotic substances." A directive was issued for Saran to be prepared at the courthouse for his statement to be taken.
SARAN GAVE A STATEMENT ON DECEMBER 20
While he was abroad, Saran came to Istanbul and went to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan on December 20 to give a statement to the public prosecutor conducting the investigation. After the statement procedures, Saran was referred to the Forensic Medicine Institution (ATK) for hair and blood samples to be taken, and he was brought back to the Istanbul Courthouse after the procedures.
JUDICIAL CONTROL DECISION WAS MADE
Sadettin Saran was referred to the peace criminal court with a request for judicial control in the form of a travel ban abroad on charges of "supplying narcotic substances," "using narcotic substances," and "facilitating the use of narcotic substances," and the court issued a decision for judicial control in line with the request.
NOTABLE DETAIL IN THE ATK REPORT
In the report prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institution, it was determined that the drug test on Saran's hair samples was positive, while the test results for blood, urine, and nail samples were negative.
