5 SETTLEMENTS EVACUATED

The Israeli National Emergency Service Magen David Adom (MDA) announced that so far, 12 people have been treated for smoke inhalation in the fires surrounding the hills of Jerusalem. At least 5 settlements were also evacuated due to the spreading flames.
ARMY DEPLOYED
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz called for the deployment of military forces to combat the fires to Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir. In a statement from the ministry, it was said, "We are in a national emergency. We need to concentrate all available forces to save lives and bring the flames under control." Following the request, Israeli Chief of Staff Zamir ordered the army to assist in combating the fires in the hills of Jerusalem. Interventions from land and air against the flames are ongoing.
