A forest fire that broke out four days ago in the Buldan district of Denizli and spread to Aydın has grown again due to strong winds. While efforts to combat the fire continue, houses in the Bölmekaya neighborhood, which is part of Buldan, have started to catch fire. The forest fire that started on Wednesday, August 27, in Buldan district of Denizli had spread to Aydın province, crossing the borders of Denizli. The fire, which has been ongoing for 4 days at the Denizli-Aydın provincial border, was largely brought under control last night.
IT FLARED UP AGAIN
In the fire that grew again this afternoon due to strong winds, the houses in Bölmekaya Neighborhood, which were saved last night, started to burn.
HOUSES BURNED, EVACUATION DECISION MADE
Work has begun to evacuate the houses in the neighborhood where the houses have started to burn. The houses threatened by the fire in Bölmekaya and Bostanyeri neighborhoods were evacuated by police, gendarmerie, commandos, and soldiers.
THERE ARE PEOPLE AFFECTED BY SMOKE
To extinguish the flames that rapidly advanced and suddenly surrounded the village due to the wind, a large number of helicopters, water tankers, police riot control vehicles, first response vehicles, and personnel were assigned. It was learned that many citizens were affected by the smoke in the village fire that was intervened quickly. Citizens affected by the smoke were transported to nearby hospitals by ambulances.
HOSPITAL ALSO EVACUATED
Additionally, due to the rapidly advancing fire, patients and medical equipment in Buldan Chest Diseases Hospital and the Additional Service Building were evacuated to a safe area as a precaution.
Patients undergoing treatment were transported to hospitals located in the city center of Denizli by ambulances. A field tent was also set up in the hospital area for treatments requiring emergency intervention.
