Flights from and to Istanbul, which were suspended after the US and Israel's airstrikes on Iran on February 28, have resumed after 56 days. With the mutual resumption of services between Istanbul Airport and Tehran, air traffic between the two countries has gradually begun to return to normal. The first international flight from Iran was made to Istanbul.

The first step towards normalization in air traffic between Istanbul and Tehran has been taken. Mutual flights, which were suspended following the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran on February 28, have resumed after 56 days. With the reactivation of flights based at Istanbul Airport, mobility on the transportation line between the two countries has been revived.

THE FIRST AIRCRAFT ARRIVED FROM TEHRAN

An Airbus A310 passenger aircraft, tail number EP-IBK, flight number IR719, belonging to Iran's flag carrier airline IranAir, departed from Imam Khomeini Airport in Tehran and arrived at Istanbul Airport.

After a flight lasting approximately 3 hours and 26 minutes, the aircraft landed at 09:43, becoming the first Iranian aircraft to reach Istanbul after a 56-day hiatus.

CONSECUTIVE LANDINGS TOOK PLACE

Following the first aircraft, flights from Iran to Istanbul continued throughout the day.

An Airbus A310 passenger aircraft, flight number B99710, belonging to Iran AirTour, landed at 12:03.

An Airbus A340 passenger aircraft, flight number W5116, belonging to Mahan Air, arrived at Istanbul Airport at 13:20.

These two flights were recorded as the second and third Iranian aircraft to land in Istanbul after the resumption of services.

FIRST DEPARTURE TO IRAN AT 12:02

The first flight from Istanbul to Iran was operated by Meraj Air. An Airbus A300 passenger aircraft, flight number MRJ4804, took off at 12:02 bound for Tehran.

RADARS TURNED OFF FOR SECURITY REASONS

It was learned that aircraft departing from Istanbul Airport for Iran turned off their radars after entering Iranian airspace over the Caspian Sea.

The IranAir aircraft after 2 hours and 40 minutes

And the Iran AirTour aircraft after 2 hours and 37 minutes.
