After the collective bargaining period, the agenda for civil servants became bank promotions. DMS General President Tuncay Cengiz called for a sixfold increase in promotions and for them to be updated annually according to inflation. Cengiz stated that the agreements ranged from 90,000 to 138,000 lira.

Public servants have turned their expectations into bank salary promotions following the 8th Term Collective Agreement. DMS President Cengiz stated that they demand the bank salary promotions for civil servants to be increased to at least 6 times the figures determined in 2022 and to be updated every January according to the inflation rate.
"THIS YEAR, A UPDATE PROCESS WILL BEGIN IN CONTRACTS"
Noting that the third year of bank salary contracts has been completed, Cengiz said, "As of this year, an update process will begin in contracts. When we look at the results of the tenders that have taken place so far, we see that the figures are stuck between 90,000 and 138,000 lira, and agreements have been made at various amounts. However, when we look at past economic data, the profitability rates of banks, inflation data, and the salary increase rates of civil servants, it is actually necessary for the figures given in 2022 to be increased by 6-7 times during this period. However, when we look at the offers, we see that we are faced with some offers that are 3 times or slightly above 3 times," he said.
"CIVIL SERVANT SALARY PROMOTIONS MUST BE INCREASED BY 6 TIMES"
Emphasizing that he wants public banks, which state in all their advertisements that they exist for the people first and then for the banks, to take action, Cengiz said, "For 3 years, your salaries continue to increase, inflation is experienced, but you receive the promotion once and it stays. We want the 6 times increase to be paid, and also to be updated every January with inflation figures, and we want the difference to be paid to public employees over the 3 years. Additionally, during this process, we want an average of 200,000 lira in annual loans to be given to those who request it from civil servants. Three years is certainly not a short period. During this time, we want the collective agreement fee that has been paid in advance not to be reclaimed from those who leave the civil service due to retirement, death, and similar reasons," he stated.
"WE WANT JUSTICE"
DMS President Cengiz also made the following statements:
"We have specialized organizations such as the Turkish Armed Forces, our General Directorate of Security, our Judicial Organizations, 112, the Migration Administration, and the Customs Enforcement Organization. These organizations have friends who serve in very different places in our country, in remote corners, who risk their lives for the security and survival of the state. We want our banks to be sensitive in these matters, both for our security forces and our armed forces, as well as for the other institutions I mentioned. Instead of measuring these figures by the profitability rate of banks, we want these figures to be given and paid with a sensitivity shown due to the characteristics of these institutions. We want justice, we want fairness. Because the friends working in these institutions, public employees, deserve this more than anyone else. Banks should not make promotional payments in these institutions to gain profit. They should completely pay their debt of loyalty to those working in these institutions. Therefore, we expect a privilege and sensitivity from our banks towards the institutions we just mentioned. Here, we want them not to pursue profit motives.
