CHP General Chairman Özgür Özel visited the imprisoned former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş in Edirne Prison. Before the visit, Demirtaş's lawyers handed Özgür Özel his book and the call text he wrote.

"MR. DEMİRTAŞ GAVE ME A CALL TEXT"

CHP leader Özgür Özel made a statement after the visit. Highlights from Özel's statements are as follows: "Mr. Demirtaş gave me a call text. He says that violence against women must be stopped for social peace, and that we all need to strive for this. Demirtaş gifted me his latest book, where he also talks about 'the man within us.' After people in Turkey love each other and internalize social peace, -just like it was very beautiful 100 years ago- it will be beautiful again.

No one should do such things for political concerns. This visit has a political significance. We will repair what we could not do in the first century together. We discussed all the problems of the country with Demirtaş. We talked about justice with Demirtaş, we talked about the economic crisis, we discussed how to overcome these issues. We talked about the necessity of the rule of law and good governance.

We saw that we agreed on the importance of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). There will be no decision that does not include the TBMM. I emphasize once again the importance of Mr. Demirtaş. Everyone is making calls to other actors; let them do so. What we want is for the right steps to be taken for the interests of Turkey. Rest assured that we will be in a position to be proud of.

THE DEATH OF FETÖ LEADER GÜLEN

When people die, if they go to the afterlife with a burden, then the person who goes with the greatest burden from this world is probably Fethullah Gülen.
