In Sarıyer, a former tenant evicted due to rent debt assaulted the 74-year-old property owner in the middle of the street with a piece of wood. Footage captured the 37-year-old attacker throwing the elderly man to the ground and brutally beating him during a fight that started over a dispute about a shared space. It emerged that both parties have dozens of criminal records. Following the incident, the attacker was taken into custody, while the elderly man, with a fractured back from the wood, recounted his horror, saying, 'He beat me while shouting that he would kill me.'
A dispute that started over a rent disagreement in Sarıyer turned into a chilling street beating. Taner Koz, 74, was severely beaten in the middle of the street by his former tenant. The moments when logs flew through the air and screams rose were captured second by second on security cameras.
FROM RENT CRISIS TO HOSTILITY
The incident occurred last evening in Sarıyer Maden District. According to claims, 74-year-old Taner Koz rented a portion of the land in front of his house to 37-year-old Hüseyin A. for use as a warehouse. However, when the rent went unpaid for five months, Koz had his tenant evicted via a court order. This development ignited an endless hostility between the two.
EVICTED, THEN RENTED THE ADJACENT LOT
The evicted Hüseyin A. then rented the land right next to his old warehouse, becoming Koz's neighbor. On the day of the incident, Taner Koz wanted to move aside materials and signs in the area to open the warehouse entrance, which he claimed was a shared access area. When Hüseyin A. saw this and angrily approached Koz, the argument quickly turned into an assault.
"THEY BROKE THE WOOD ON HIS BACK"
In the images reflected on security cameras, Hüseyin A. is seen attacking the elderly man with kicks and punches, then taking a piece of wood and continuing to beat Koz as he fell to the ground.
Describing the horror he experienced, Taner Koz revealed the severity of the attack with these words: "He knocked me down, beat me as I screamed. He broke the wood on my back, hit my head many times. He threatened me, saying 'I won't let you live, I'll bury you here.'"
THICK CRIMINAL RECORDS
After the attack, the elderly man got up and tried to defend himself by throwing stones at his attacker, Hüseyin A.
After the fight ended when nearby citizens intervened, police teams took action.
It was revealed that the detained Hüseyin A. had 33 criminal records, while the assaulted Taner Koz had 29.
"HE WAS CONSTANTLY PULLING A GUN"
Taner Koz, one of the parties who were found to have numerous previous lawsuits and investigations between them, claimed that his former tenant had been systematically violent towards him for a long time. Koz complained, saying, "He was constantly pulling a gun on me before. He usurped what was mine, blocked my way by pulling his car and motorcycle." The investigation into the incident continues.
