According to the victim's testimony in court, Bodo G. raped her on three different occasions. It is claimed that one of the assaults took place next to an open coffin containing a female corpse. The woman described the situation as "disgusting" and stated that the defendant "tried to harass her every day."
The victim also claimed that she told Bodo G. she was a lesbian, but the man responded that it would not be a problem because he had been sterilized.
The defendant denies all charges. Bodo G., who stated that he is married and has children, argued, "I have a sexual life with my wife, so I don't need to rape." He also alleged that the woman intentionally left bodily fluids at the funeral home.
During the trial, it was also claimed that Bodo G. was inappropriately aroused by the clothing of a grieving family member. The defendant denied this allegation, stating that he was "not aroused by corpses."
Bodo G. later confirmed that he had fired this woman and stated that his decision was based on professional reasons such as "her unwillingness to work the night shift, her inability to write eulogies, and her inability to play the violin at ceremonies."
It was reported that the victim is receiving treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder. A verdict in the case is expected to be announced at the end of April.
While the German press closely follows the case, it was reported last year that a 22-year-old British tourist was allegedly sexually assaulted by a festival security guard during Oktoberfest in Munich in a similar incident.
