16 SETTLEMENTS EVACUATED

On the other hand, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that 16 settlements have been evacuated due to the ongoing fire at the Sakarya-Bilecik border. The minister stated, "The fire has a tendency to progress towards the east. Due to this fire, two settlements in Sakarya and 14 settlements in Bilecik have been evacuated. Among these, one of our citizens was injured in the fire in Bilecik Osmaneli and was transferred to the hospital. Other than that, there are no injuries among our workers or citizens. Work is ongoing regarding the cause of the fire. Three people have been detained," he said.

83 FIRES IN A DAY

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı also provided information about the fires in various parts of the country, stating, "The number of fires in our country is 150. 83 of them occurred today. Currently, there are 8 active fires in our country, but 4 of them have been partially brought under control."

STATEMENT FROM THE COMMUNICATION DIRECTORATE

In a statement made by the Communication Directorate regarding the fires, the following was stated: "As of Friday, June 27, 2025, and Saturday, June 28, 2025, a total of 150 fires have occurred nationwide: 68 forest fires and 82 agricultural fires."

"8 FIRES CONTINUE"

142 of these fires have been brought under control as a result of rapid and effective intervention, and efforts to intervene in the 8 ongoing forest fires are continuing without interruption. The fires being intervened in are located in Sakarya/Bilecik, Manisa/Akhisar, Balıkesir/Havran, Balıkesir/Kepsut, Kahramanmaraş/Pazarcık, Bolu/Göynük, Gaziantep/Nurdağı, and Bilecik/Osmaneli.

Our ground and air units are working diligently against the fires, and reinforcements of teams and equipment have been made in risky areas. Developments are being monitored in real-time, and necessary coordination is provided by the General Directorate of Forestry Fire Management Center.

The General Directorate of Forestry, affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, is on alert against fires with a total of 27 aircraft, 105 helicopters, 14 drones, nearly 6,000 water tankers and first response vehicles, 4,796 fire ponds and reservoirs, 776 observation towers, 25,000 forest heroes, and 131,000 volunteers.

FIRE CONTINUES IN BOLU

On the other hand, in the forested area of Göynük district in Bolu, firefighting efforts are ongoing with 136 personnel, 30 vehicles, and 9 firefighting helicopters. Göynük Mayor Ali Oral stated, "The fire has not been brought under control; it is still ongoing at the moment."

5 HECTARES TURNED TO ASH IN DÜZCE

In the Yığılca district of Düzce, the fire that broke out in the forested area was extinguished after 3 hours of work. An area of 5 hectares was turned to ash in the fire.

FIRE IN ÇANAKKALE EXTINGUISHED

The fire that broke out in a grassy area in Çanakkale also caused concern. The fire was brought under control with the intervention of the Çanakkale Regional Directorate of Forestry, the Provincial Gendarmerie Command, the Provincial Police Department, and firefighting teams.
