In the case where 47 defendants are being tried for the newborn gang, an interesting incident occurred regarding the organization leader, Fırat Sarı, while the first hearing was ongoing. It was noticed that Sarı, who came to the defendant's stand to read his identity information, had removed the wig he was wearing in prison.

In Istanbul, the first hearing continues in the case of 47 defendants who are accused of transferring emergency patients to the neonatal units of private hospitals they had previously agreed upon, causing their deaths and making unjust profits.

During the hearing held in the courthouse's conference hall by the Bakırköy 22nd High Criminal Court, 22 detained defendants, including the detained defendant Fırat Sarı, 8 of whom are women, 19 non-detained defendants, and the parties' lawyers were present. Some non-detained defendants connected to the hearing via the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS) from the courthouses in their respective cities.

In the hearing that started with identity determination, the organization leader Fırat Sarı stated that he is single and has 2 children. The detained defendant Sarı, who described himself as a clinical doctor, declared his monthly income as 400 thousand lira.

REMOVED HIS WIG BEFORE ENTERING PRISON

A detail regarding Fırat Sarı, who came to the defendant's stand to read his identity information, drew attention. According to journalist Emrullah Erdinc, it was noticed that Sarı removed his wig before entering prison.

IT WAS THE AMBULANCE DRIVER'S TURN

Ambulance driver detained defendant Gıyasettin Mert Özdemir stated that he is married and has children, and his monthly income is 40 thousand lira.

After the identity determination of the defendants was completed, the court president read the new documents that had arrived at the court. During this time, lawyer Ömer Kavili, who was sitting in the audience, stated that it was against procedure not to read the contents of the documents.
