TÜRKLAB DECLARED BANKRUPTCY



Türklab, which has been operating in the İTOB Organized Industrial Zone in the Menderes district of İzmir for 27 years, could not overcome its financial difficulties. The company, which became a global player by using and selling domestic antibody test kits abroad during the coronavirus pandemic, filed for bankruptcy at the İzmir 2nd Commercial Court.



THE NEXT HEARING IS ON JULY 8



In response to the debt restructuring application made by Şahin Yağlıdere and Kartal Yağlıdere, the owners of Türklab Medical Supplies, S.K. Technology Research and Development, and Farlab Pharmaceutical Private Health Services, the court issued a temporary injunction decision. To ensure that the bankruptcy process of Türklab and its affiliated companies is conducted smoothly, Hatice Karpuzoğlu and Legal Expert Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Yeşilova were appointed as temporary bankruptcy commissioners. The next hearing of the case will be held on July 8, the date when the temporary injunction will expire.



ENTERED THE SECTOR WITH PREGNANCY TEST PRODUCTION



The company, which started its operations in İzmir in 1996 under the name Labmen, later changed its name to Türklab. Türklab first entered the sector with the production of pregnancy tests. Kartal Yağlıdere took over the company in 2001. In the 2000s, the company made its first international sale, collaborating with a pharmaceutical company in Germany that has 12,000 dealerships.

Türklab increased its production capacity in 2008 and moved to İzmir AOSB. In 2014, the company invested in modern technologies and achieved great success by selling domestic test kits abroad during the Covid-19 pandemic.
