In a traffic accident in the Koyulhisar district of Sivas, one person lost their life and the driver was seriously injured. It was claimed that a girl under the age of 18 threw herself into the Kelkit Stream in shock from the accident and disappeared in the current. AFAD teams are continuing search efforts in the stream where the water flow has increased.
At the entrance of the Kalebaşı Tunnel in the Koyulhisar district of Sivas, a vehicle driven by U.Y. (20) overturned while in motion after the driver lost control of the steering wheel.
IN SHOCK OF THE ACCIDENT, SHE JUMPED INTO THE STREAM AND WENT MISSING
The driver was injured, while Yağmur Hira Yazıcı, who was in the vehicle, died at the scene. It was alleged that a girl named E.N.H., who was under the age of 18 and also in the vehicle, jumped into the Kelkit River in shock from the incident and was swept away by the current, going missing.
SEARCH LAUNCHED TO RESCUE THE CHILD
The injured driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance, while a search operation was initiated to find the girl who was reported missing in the Kelkit River. AFAD teams are continuing search efforts in the river, whose flow rate has significantly increased due to recent rains. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
