James Harrison, known as the "Man with the Golden Arm," who has saved the lives of 2.4 million babies by donating blood in Australia since 1954, has passed away at the age of 88.
James Harrison, known as the "Man with the Golden Arm," who donated blood 1,173 times throughout his life and saved the lives of 2.4 million babies with the plasma derived from his blood, passed away at the age of 88.
DIED IN A NURSING HOME
According to a report by 9 News, the Australian Red Cross Committee announced that Harrison died on February 17 at the nursing home where he was staying.

Harrison, who started donating blood at the age of 18 in 1954, is believed to have donated blood 1,173 times throughout his life, saving the lives of 2.4 million babies with the plasma derived from his blood.
Thanks to the high levels of plasma in his blood, Harrison also contributed to the preparation of the blood incompatibility injection known as "Anti-D."
