Among this inventory, the orders written by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in his own handwriting during the Çanakkale Wars 110 years ago have been compiled into a book. In the book "Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the 19th Division in the Light of the Çanakkale 1915 Documents," 97 out of 130 orders belong to Atatürk. When the orders are examined, it is observed that the 19th Brigade Commander Mustafa Kemal Atatürk issued orders considering the conditions that would arise and closely followed the war.

During the battles, 15th Regiment Commander İbrahim Şükrü and 47th Regiment Commander Ahmet Tevfik Bey were martyred to keep the Kanlısırt region under Turkish control. Kanlısırt constitutes one of the most critical terrain sections of the Arıburnu region during the Çanakkale battles. During the attack on May 19, 1915, nearly 2 million infantry bullets were expended in this area between the parties. Based on the casualties, the region was named Kanlısırt.

"THE SPIRIT OF ÇANAKKALE HAS ALWAYS EXISTED IN THESE LANDS"

On the 110th anniversary of the Çanakkale Wars, the Head of the Historical Area Presidency, İsmail Kaşdemir, stated that they have uncovered more details, saying, "On the 110th anniversary of the Çanakkale Land Battles, the details of the Çanakkale battles have started to emerge more. A team formed by our Presidency has entered the archives to read the orders given by those great commanders who made Çanakkale impassable, both compiling them into books and transferring them to digital media. The orders given by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk during his command in the Çanakkale Wars, especially those given while he was in Kemal, have been transferred to digital media, compiled into books, and translated into today's Turkish. Here, we better understand that the high spirit that made Çanakkale impassable, that sacrifice, that dedication, that loyalty to the homeland, and the spirit of Çanakkale, where life is disregarded when it comes to the homeland and the nation, has always existed in these lands and will continue to exist," he said.

"MUSTAFA KEMAL HAS EARNED A PLACE IN THE HEARTS OF THE TURKISH NATION AS THE 'HERO OF ANAFARTALAR'"

Stating that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk has a place in the hearts of the people and the Mehmetçik, İsmail Kaşdemir said, "Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk distinguished himself in Çanakkale, never leaving his soldiers' side, and always being in front of them. He won the heart and soul of the Mehmetçik and succeeded in entering the heart of the Turkish nation. Mustafa Kemal stepped onto the historical stage in Çanakkale, and with the spirit and courage that emerged here, a journey that began in Samsun culminated in our Republic. Mustafa Kemal is a hero of Çanakkale. Of course, he later became the commander-in-chief of our National Struggle and the founder of our Republic. When Mustafa Kemal arrived in Çanakkale as a lieutenant colonel, he earned everyone's admiration with his courage, sacrifice, clever and practical solutions, and of course, his excellent command and management of the soldiers. Subsequently, with his successes here, he took his place in the heart of the Mehmetçik and earned a place in the hearts of the Turkish nation as the 'Hero of Anafartalar,'" he said.

DOCUMENTS NEVER SEEN BEFORE

Stating that they continue their efforts to bring information related to Çanakkale to light as the Historical Area Presidency, President Kaşdemir continued his remarks: "As the Historical Area Presidency, we are re-reading and evaluating the orders that say 'I command you to die' that made Çanakkale impassable, finding new ones, transferring them to books, and making them available to the entire Turkish nation in digital media. You can easily access these orders on the website of our Historical Area Presidency in digital format. The first volume has now been published. As the Historical Area Presidency, as part of our duty, we will uncover and present to our nation everything that has not been worked on, seen, or brought to light regarding Çanakkale. It is our duty to ensure that the heroes of Çanakkale are better known and that the spirit of Çanakkale is passed on to future generations. Therefore, we will continue to work for Çanakkale, for the spirit of Çanakkale, and for a better understanding of Çanakkale."
