A new scandal has emerged regarding the hotel where Selçuk Tengioğlu, who attacked CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, was staying. It was determined that the hotel in Beyoğlu was operating without a license, and it has been sealed by municipal teams.

IT WAS REVEALED THAT THE HOTEL WAS UNLICENSED
After the ceremony held for the Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder at the Atatürk Cultural Center, Selçuk Tengioğlu attacked CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and was subsequently detained. While the suspect's procedures at the police continued, it was revealed that the hotel he was staying at in Beyoğlu was unlicensed. The hotel was sealed by municipal teams.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
After the memorial ceremony held for the Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Özel was punched by the attacker who approached him as he was leaving the AKM. It was determined that the suspect, who was detained by police while Özel was leaving the area under the protection of bodyguards and security measures, was Selçuk Tengioğlu (66).
HE BRUTALLY MURDERED HIS 2 CHILDREN
The suspect, taken to the Beyoğlu District Police Department, was sent to the Istanbul Public Order Branch after his procedures there. It was determined that the suspect, against whom an investigation was initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, had murdered his daughter M.T. (15) and son B.T. (17) in İskenderun, Hatay on May 9, 2004, and had injured his youngest daughter G.T. (11), for which he was sentenced to life imprisonment and was released from prison on conditional parole in 2020. It was learned that the suspect had no connection to any political party or organization and that no findings regarding his mental health had been found.
