Partizan's head coach Zeljko Obradovic announced his resignation. In his farewell statement, Obradovic said, "I would like to thank everyone who supported our club, the club president, the board members, all the staff, the players, my coaching staff, and the sponsors. The Serbian representative Partizan Basketball Team has parted ways with head coach Zeljko Obradovic.
OBRADOVIC RESIGNED
The experienced coach Obradovic announced his resignation through a statement on the club's official website. Thanking the Partizan fans for their support, Obradovic said, "I returned to my beloved club 4.5 years ago and set out to live the most beautiful dream with you. I desired and aimed for our Partizan to be part of the EuroLeague again after 10 years. We achieved this together. The matches of our beloved club have become much more than basketball thanks to you who deserve it the most. Unfortunately, the time has come for me to take responsibility for all the bad things that have happened this season and submit my resignation. I thank everyone who supported our club, the club president, the board members, all the staff of the club, the players, my coaching staff, and the sponsors. I will always be one of you, and I am forever grateful."
COACHED FOR THE SECOND TIME
The Serbian head coach, who previously coached Partizan from 1991 to 1993, returned to the team for the second time in 2021. Throughout his career, Obradovic has won the EuroLeague 9 times, with one title each at Partizan, Joventut, Real Madrid, and Fenerbahçe, and 5 titles at Panathinaikos, making him one of the legends of European basketball.
