It has been revealed that Amir El Cedduğ's uncle, who buried his nephew alive, participated in the search and rescue efforts. The child's father stated, "While his uncle was searching, he didn't show any signs. He said things like, 'I'm very thirsty too, what is Amir's condition?' His uncle was a very wicked person." Amir, on the other hand, said that he couldn't sleep for three days underground and constantly prayed to Allah to be found.
10-year-old Syrian national Amir El Cedduğ, living in the Kurtuluş neighborhood of Reyhanlı district in Hatay, was reported missing by his family to the police when he did not return home after school on Friday, December 12. Following the review of over 200 camera recordings by police teams, Amir's uncle M.E. was taken into custody as a suspect in the case. The uncle, who was caught on a house camera with his nephew on the dam road, claimed he was unaware of his nephew's situation, while police, AFAD, gendarmerie, and NGOs began search operations in the area.
With the efforts of the teams, the missing child was found two days later, injured in the head and buried alive in the ground, and was taken under treatment. The child, with whom the teams established a dialogue, stated that he was kidnapped by his uncle after school and was beaten, leading to the arrest of the uncle, the perpetrator.
HE SURVIVED A LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION Amir, who was severely injured and buried alive by his uncle, overcame his life-threatening condition with the treatment he received at Hatay Training and Research Hospital. Amir was discharged and reunited with his family last Saturday. Trying to spend time with his family and overcome the fear he experienced, Amir said that he did not sleep at all during the 3 days he was buried in the ground and that he prayed to Allah for help.
Expressing that his uncle, who buried his child alive, participated in the search and rescue efforts, father Muhammed El Cedduğ stated that he wanted the uncle, who acted without revealing anything to them, to receive the heaviest punishment.
"I COULDN'T SLEEP FOR 3 DAYS UNDERGROUND, I PRAYED TO ALLAH" Amir El Cedduğ, who stated that he prayed to Allah for 3 days since the day his uncle buried him in the ground, said, "I am in the 3rd grade. I want to be a lawyer when I grow up. I like Turkish, life science, and math classes at school. That day my uncle came to school and told me, 'Your mother and father asked me to pick you up from school.' I said okay. He picked me up from school, put me in the car, and took me to the place where he buried me. He didn't say anything to me in the car, he just tried to choke me and beat me. I fainted from the beating, and my uncle thought I was dead, so he half-buried me and covered me with rocks and left. I stayed there for 3 days. When the search and rescue operations were conducted, I couldn't speak. I felt that there were people and raised my hand. The officer Ramazan saw me and rescued me. He took the stones off me and put me in the ambulance, and we went to the hospital. I couldn't sleep at all for 3 days under the dirt and rock, I constantly prayed to Allah. I prayed for my father and others to find me. Allah accepted my prayer, and now I am in very good condition. I am happy to be with my family. I want to go back to school as soon as possible. I couldn't talk to my uncle in the car because he was trying to choke me. My uncle never picked me up from school before; it was always my mother, father, or grandfather. My uncle came to school for the first time and tricked me by saying my father sent me. I don't know why my uncle did this. I knew the way home; I asked my uncle why we were going this way, but he didn't answer. I missed my teacher, my friends, and my principal at school," he said.
"MY UNCLE WAS VERY EVIL, HE SEARCHED FOR MY SON AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED" Father Muhammed El Cedduğ, stating that his uncle also participated in the search efforts for his child, said, "My son's condition is quite good; he was discharged on Saturday, and we will go for a check-up at the hospital in 2 days. I cannot express my feelings for my son returning home; may Allah not let anyone experience the pain of losing a child. We never expected my son to come home, but thankfully he is with us now. After he recovers, he will return to school; we have not met with his uncle at all. I want the heaviest punishment to be given to him by the Republic of Turkey. My uncle tried to search for my son by participating in the search and rescue team, searching for my son as if nothing had happened. When the police teams saw my uncle's vehicle on the cameras, they understood the situation and took him into custody. My uncle did not reveal anything while searching. He even said, 'I was very thirsty, and what is Amir's condition?' My uncle was a very evil person. He did not show any signs during the search and rescue efforts. We were not expecting that. We were very surprised why my uncle would do such a thing to his nephew. Family relations were good, and he had no problems with his sister. I don't know why he did it. We have not met in prison. I have warned my son never to get into someone else's car. When my uncle came to school and said, 'Your father sent me,' my son believed him. Amir knew the way home from school. When he saw that the road was going in a different direction while in the car, he told his uncle, 'We are not going home.' My uncle then told my son, 'I will buy you chocolate, and we are going to the grocery store.' When my son said, 'This is not the way to the grocery store,' he did not respond and tried to choke him," he expressed.
