The lifeless bodies of two young people aged 19 and 21, who entered Lake Iznik to cool off from the hot weather in the İznik district of Bursa, were found. The tragic news following the search efforts plunged the families and relatives waiting on the lake shore into grief.

In the İznik district of Bursa, two individuals aged 19 and 21 who entered the lake to cool off drowned and lost their lives. Their bodies were found 30 meters from the shore.

THEY DISAPPEARED FROM SIGHT WHILE STRUGGLING IN THE WATER

The incident occurred in the morning hours at the Sölöz Mahallesi altı location in Bursa's İznik district. According to information received, 19-year-old Bünyamin Kadı and 21-year-old İsmail İmamoğlu, who entered Lake İznik to cool off, disappeared from sight after struggling in the water for a while. When the youths could not be contacted and the situation was noticed, nearby individuals reported it to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

LIFELESS BODIES FOUND 30 METERS OFFSHORE

Upon the report, gendarmerie, health, AFAD, and diver search and rescue teams were quickly dispatched to the scene. Underwater search and rescue divers launched an extensive search in the area and, as a result of their scans, uncovered the bitter truth. The lifeless bodies of the two youths were found approximately 30 meters offshore from the point where they entered the water.

RELATIVES COLLAPSED AT THE LAKESIDE

The bodies of the youths, recovered from the water, were taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, following prosecutor and crime scene investigations at the scene. Family members and relatives, who had been waiting hopefully by the lakeside during the search efforts, suffered nervous breakdowns when they received the tragic news. Citizens who fainted amid the cries at the scene were immediately attended to by health teams on standby.
