In Kastamonu, the research assistant arrested in the sexual assault investigation, during which a male university student was injured after jumping half-naked from a second-floor window, was dismissed from his job at Kastamonu University.
After a male university student in Kastamonu jumped half-naked from a second-floor apartment window onto a parked car and was injured, the detained research assistant A.D. was arrested by the duty judge on charges of 'aggravated sexual assault', 'deprivation of liberty', 'violation of privacy', 'damage to property', 'threat with a weapon', and 'insult'.
CLAIM: "HE JUMPED AFTER THE ARGUMENT"
In his statement, the arrested research assistant A.D. claimed that he had a distorted relationship with the injured student before and alleged that the student jumped down after a dispute on the day of the incident.
SUSPENDED FROM DUTY
In a statement from Kastamonu University regarding the matter, it was stated that after an official notification from the judicial authorities, A.D. was suspended from duty and an investigation was initiated. The statement emphasized that such situations, incompatible with academic and moral values, would not be tolerated in any way, and included the following expressions:
"In recent days, it has become necessary to make this statement to accurately inform the public about the allegations and administrative process concerning a staff member working as a research assistant at our university, as covered by some media outlets and social media platforms. Following the official notification to our university by the judicial authorities regarding the incident, the relevant staff member was immediately suspended from duty, and the necessary administrative process was initiated. As Kastamonu University, we emphasize that such situations, which are utterly incompatible with our academic and moral values, will never be tolerated, and we declare that we are closely following the process and judicial developments."
