The first statement of the 13-year-old suspect arrested for the abuse of Sıla baby: "I did it because I was jealous."

Bakiye Yeniçeri, who lives in Malkara district of Tekirdağ, took her daughter Sıla Y. to Malkara State Hospital on the evening of September 8th. Doctors who examined the unconscious Sıla Y. reported the situation to the police when they saw signs of assault and bruises. S.Y., who was in critical condition, was referred to Tekirdağ İsmail Fehmi Cumalıoğlu City Hospital.

It was determined that Sıla Y., who was examined, had a brain hemorrhage, and evidence of physical violence was obtained on her body, and she underwent surgery. The hospital also sent the DNA samples it obtained from Sıla Y. to Tekirdağ Forensic Medicine Institute for examination. Malkara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation into the incident under the coordination of Tekirdağ Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and the Directorate of Family and Social Services applied to the family and neighbors for information. Bakiye Yeniçeri claimed that her daughter was injured by falling from the television unit in the neighbors' house. The Directorate filed a criminal complaint against the mother and stepfather Sanlı Ö., and the family's other 5-year-old daughter was taken into protective custody.

5 SUSPECTS ARRESTED

Police teams of Tekirdağ Police Department detained 5 suspects, including Bakiye Yeniçeri. In the investigation, Bakiye Yeniçeri, Sanlı Ö., neighbor Kani A., and the children of the neighbor where the baby was left, G.A. and K.A., were arrested. The suspects claimed that Sıla Y. fell and got injured while they were trying to take the baby stroller. Tekirdağ Bar Association President Egemen Gürcün announced in a statement on September 11th that it was confirmed by forensic medical reports that Sıla Y. was sexually abused.

THREW AWAY THE EVIDENCE DIAPER

It was revealed that Bakiye Yeniçeri noticed that her daughter was sexually assaulted by the neighbor's children K.A. and G.K. on September 5th but did not report it to the police. It was also revealed that blood was seen on the diaper of little Sıla Y. by her mother, but the evidence diaper was thrown away in an attempt to cover up the incident. It was stated that the suspects abused the little girl under the pretext of changing her diaper.

According to the news in Sabah; the statement of 13-year-old K.A., who sexually abused and assaulted little Sıla Y., was reached. The suspect admitted in his statement that he assaulted Sıla Y. because he was jealous of her father. K.A., who claimed that her father bought a cake for Sıla Y. but not for him, said, "I assaulted her because I was jealous." It was determined that K.A. lived with his two siblings and grandmother, and his mother abandoned them.
