The family of Emirates flight attendant Tori Towey, who was arrested in Dubai on charges of attempted suicide, is seeking help from the Irish government. Tori Towey, 28, attempted suicide due to domestic violence from her husband. SOUGHT HELP FROM THE IRISH GOVERNMENTTori, supported by her mother Caroline in Dubai, is expecting assistance from Irish President Simon Harris and Taoiseach. Tori said, "I am currently with my mother, but I don't know what will happen in court next week. I want to return to Ireland and leave this nightmare behind. Please ask Taoiseach to help us." Caroline Towey added, "We are asking for help from the Irish government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the embassy for our daughter to return home safely. Tori is going through the toughest time of her life and needs to come home with me to heal." Tori Towey, originally from Co Roscommon, worked as a cabin crew member at Emirates and was detained in Dubai after her passport was confiscated. Tori's aunt, Ann Flynn, said, "Our daughter is doing her best. I spoke to her today. Caroline, her mother, went to be with her. Tori simply wants to go home. She is a woman from Roscommon and wants to return home." SUFFERED FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCEFlynn continued, "Tori, who was subjected to her husband's violence, escaped to the upper floor and tried to end her own life. Now she faces charges of attempted suicide and alcohol abuse in Dubai. The system that chose to arrest and accuse this Irish citizen instead of protecting her has put Tori under great stress."
