In a statement made through the Istanbul Governorship's social media X account, the following was stated; "With the drop in temperatures starting from the beginning of the week, cold weather is expected to affect our province. The ongoing rainfall in our province is expected to be locally strong from tonight until tomorrow (Monday) evening.

It is predicted that strong rainfall will continue on Tuesday; on 19.02.2025 (Wednesday), there will be mixed rain and snow, with snow at higher elevations, and on 20.02.2025 (Thursday) and 21.02.2025 (Friday), it is expected to be intermittently snowy."
