The lowest air temperature in Turkey was measured at minus 33.8 degrees in the Göle district of Ardahan last night. Following Göle, the village of Bezirhane in the Çaldıran district of Van recorded minus 28.7, and the Yalnızçam Ski Center in Ardahan recorded minus 27.3. Turkey has been under the influence of Siberian cold after heavy snowfall. The freezing temperatures have negatively affected daily life. Experts have warned that especially the elderly and children should avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary. Drivers without covered parking have taken precautions by covering their vehicles with a tarp or blanket.

In Erzurum, where the air temperature was minus 27.2, the windows of cars, homes, and workplaces were frozen. Those who went outside struggled to avoid slipping on the icy road. Seyit Teber, who took precautions for his car in Erzurum, said, "The weather is freezing. Since there is no covered parking, most of the cars left outside are freezing. To prevent this, I wrap my car in a blanket. When I go to work in the morning, while the cars next to mine are covered in ice, my car is completely fine." According to the data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, the lowest air temperature last night was measured at minus 33.8 degrees in the Göle district of Ardahan. Following this district, the village of Bezirhane in the Çaldıran district of Van recorded minus 28.7, and again the Yalnızçam Ski Center in Ardahan recorded minus 27.3. In some provinces, air temperatures were also measured below minus 20 degrees.
