Two groups that fought in the countryside yesterday due to a land dispute encountered each other in the town center this evening and attacked each other with stones and sticks. In both incidents, 11 people were injured.

The fight occurred yesterday evening in the rural Mil Dalca neighborhood of Akçakale district. According to claims, two groups with a feud over a land dispute encountered each other on the road, and the argument escalated into a fight as their relatives got involved.

STARTED WITH LAND DISPUTE, TURNED INTO A STREET FIGHT

In the fight where stones, sticks, and shovels were used, 7 people were injured in various parts of their bodies. The feuding group encountered each other today at a gas station located in the Fevzi Çakmak neighborhood of Akçakale town center, leading to another argument.

THEY CLASHED WITH EACH OTHER TWICE

In the incident that quickly turned into a fight, the parties attacked each other with stones and sticks in the middle of the street, engaging in a brawl. When the police teams dispatched to the scene were insufficient, support was requested from the gendarmerie commando units. With the intervention of security forces, the parties were separated with difficulty, while 4 more people were injured in the ensuing incidents. The injured were taken to Akçakale State Hospital and various hospitals in Şanlıurfa for treatment. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
