All main steel components of the new Ankara 19 Mayıs Stadium, which is under rapid construction, have been lifted to the roof and reassembled. The new stadium, which will be Ankara's largest, is planned to be completed by the 2026-2027 season.
A significant milestone has been reached in the construction of the New Ankara 19 Mayıs Stadium, which is set to become one of Ankara's symbols and the city's largest stadium. In the modern complex built on the site of the old stadium, all main components of the steel structure roof have been lifted to roof level, completing the assembly process. Final checks and paint touch-ups are being meticulously carried out on the roof.
TO BE READY FOR THE NEW SEASON
With 95% of the rough construction and main structure completed, seat installation processes have begun. The tribunes predominantly feature the classic colors of Turkish sports, red and white. The giant facility, which will have a capacity of 51,000 spectators, is targeted to be ready for the 2026-2027 football season.
NOT JUST FOOTBALL
The new stadium will serve as a multi-purpose sports center beyond just a football field. Covering a massive indoor area of 160,000 square meters, the facility will include training halls for approximately 15 different sports disciplines. Athletes from various branches, primarily boxing, shooting, taekwondo, karate, ice hockey, and table tennis, will have the opportunity to train here. Additionally, a modern-standard athletics track will be located within the indoor area.
