The lifeless body of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who went missing in the rural Tavşantepe neighborhood of the Bağlar district in Diyarbakır on August 21, 2024, was found on the 19th day of the search efforts, on September 8, 2024, in a sack covered with stones in the Eğertutmaz Stream. In the case of Narin Güran seen in Diyarbakır, many people were tried and sentenced. Her mother Yüksel Güran, brother Enes Güran, and uncle Salim Güran were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for "intentional murder of a child in complicity." Nevzat Bahtiyar, who confessed to carrying Güran's body to the stream, received a 4-year and 6-month prison sentence for "destroying, concealing, or altering evidence." For the murder of Narin Güran, 15 people, including 3 children, faced charges of "aiding a criminal," with prison sentences ranging from 6 months to 5 years sought.
