After nearly 70 people were poisoned from chicken döner in Kocaeli, over 400 people in the Sarayönü district of Konya rushed to hospitals with complaints of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. It was also reported that diarrhea medications have run out in pharmacies in the district.

THEY WERE POISONED BY DRINKING WATER
About 400 people who were hospitalized due to nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea complaints were treated in the emergency department, while it was claimed that the individuals were poisoned by drinking water.
ALLEGATION OF SEWAGE MIXING WITH WATER
In the poisoning cases, it was suggested that sewage water had mixed with the drinking water, and statements were made by the municipality and the district governor's office.
STATEMENT FROM THE MUNICIPALITY
Following the congestion in hospitals, a statement was made by the Sarayönü Municipality. The statement said, "Due to the intense applications to Sarayönü State Hospital on Thursday, April 3, 2025, with complaints of diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, our Mayor Mr. Necati Koç has closely engaged with our citizens by obtaining information from the relevant department heads. The efforts are continuing meticulously. We extend our best wishes to all our citizens."
THE DISTRICT GOVERNOR'S OFFICE ALSO MADE A STATEMENT
Additionally, a statement was made by the Sarayönü District Governor's Office regarding the issue. The governor's office stated, "On Thursday, April 3, 2025, there were intense applications to Sarayönü State Hospital with complaints of diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Due to the occurrence of multiple cases, case-based studies have been immediately initiated, necessary precautions have been taken, and efforts are continuing meticulously."
