Parents gathered in front of a private educational institution in Sivas, which declared concordat and victimized hundreds of students and employees, stated that they had paid the next year's fee in advance and were victimized. Teachers reported that they had not received their salaries for four months and were in a difficult situation.
Private OFB Educational Institutions, providing education at various levels in Sivas, declared a 3-month concordat by court decision after failing to overcome the economic bottleneck they entered. Teachers who have not received salaries for 4 months and parents who paid next year's fees in advance gathered today.
Parents gathered in front of Cumhuriyet University Foundation Schools stated that they are worried about their children's future and requested authorities to intervene in the matter.
"MUST BE TRANSFERRED ASAP" Yakup Gürlevik, Principal of Cumhuriyet University Foundation Schools High School, stating that they have not received salaries for 4 months, said, "During this process, due to economic circumstances unrelated to our school, the OFB group declared concordat, and a trustee committee was appointed. This committee says it is responsible for the school's financial situation, but states that the school's operation still belongs to Onur Feridun Bozyiğit, and that the founder's opinion is taken into account. The trustee committee is fully responsible for the school's economic situation. We have not received salaries for 4 months. There are nearly 90 teachers and about 120 employees. According to the impression we got from the trustee committee, we will not receive salaries for another 2 or 3 months. We cannot endure this situation. There is only one solution: the school must be transferred as quickly as possible, the person taking over must return our personal rights, and we must work wholeheartedly with the new management as before, with our old enthusiasm. Otherwise, it is impossible for us, as teachers and administrators, to continue education and teaching in this school. There is only one way out: the school must be transferred very quickly under the authority of the trustee committee, and this transfer must be officially announced to us."
"WE PAID NEXT YEAR'S FEES" Parent Mustafa Ersoy, expressing their victimization, said, "Many of the parents gathered here have paid the school's tuition and book fees for the next year. This amounts to over 150 million. The school has not been paying teachers' salaries for about 3-4 months. Before that, they were paying with a 3-4 month delay. However, throughout the educational process, our teachers showed great sacrifice and continued the process without reflecting it on our students and us parents. But at this point, the company running the school's management and operations has applied for concordat. We see that the process is deadlocked. We call on Sivas's esteemed politicians, administrators, our governor, and our rector. We know that none of our teachers or parents want to continue with the current management."
