The lifeless bodies of 9-year-old Davut Esen and 7-year-old Abdullah Erat, who went missing in the evening hours in the Mazıdağı district of Mardin, were found in a frozen pond.

DAVUT AND ABDULLAH NEVER RETURNED HOME
The incident occurred in the rural Meşeli neighborhood of the Mazıdağı district in the evening hours. After Davut Esen and Abdullah Erat went out from their homes and were not heard from for a while, their families reported them missing to the 112 Emergency Call Center when their search efforts yielded no results.
LIFLESS BODIES FOUND IN FROZEN POND
Gendarmerie, health, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the area. During the search in the vicinity, it was determined that the surface of the pond in the neighborhood was broken and there were footprints nearby. In case the children had fallen, a search operation was initiated in the water. Additionally, the Underwater Search and Rescue (SAK) team of the Diyarbakır Provincial Gendarmerie Command was directed to the area.
The lifeless bodies of the children were found in the frozen pond. After the examination at the scene, the children's bodies were taken to the morgue of Mardin Training and Research Hospital for autopsy.
